June 2008

Clark County PUD
City of Monmouth
 Portland General Electric

Clark County PUD
Local 125 continues to communicate with the members and management regarding relationship issues. Currently, the local is working with the company on the appliance repair classification to assure each member’s rights are protected.

City of Monmouth
The contract was ratified through the membership. However, while there was tentative agreement between the local and management, the package was not approved by the city counsel. We are working to schedule additional dates, so we can get back to the table. Members are reminded to maintain professional conduct and not get distracted by the negotiations. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the business representative.

Portland General Electric

In anticipation of upcoming negotiations, a meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on June 7 at the Local 125 business office. All members employed by Portland General Electric are encouraged to attend.

Members are reminded to take callouts and man their work. With negotiations approaching, we should not give the company any data that supports implementing new processes to ensure that the business needs are met.

Shop Steward training is currently taking place for all employees’. Future dates are scheduled throughout May and June.

Members are reminded to continue to approach each situation professionally. As specific area’s work through differences we must not to be negatively influenced and we must assure that each member is approaching each job with safe work practices as our top priority.
