Obama clinches the nomination
It's set. The Democrat and Republican parties have their presumptive candidates for the 2008 presidential election. Republican Senator John McCain will challenge Democrat Senator Barack Obama. Obama secured enough delegates to be considered the presumptive nominee for the Democrats. With his former rival Senator Hillary Clinton endorsing him, Obama is preparing for a lengthy and likely hostile battle with McCain to become our next president. Both candidates will be working to convince Americans he is the best candidate to turn around this country.
(Posted 06/09/08)

CHANGE will be a key theme from both parties. In the end, it's you who has the power to determine what type of change America needs. Get involved during the process and ensure that you are educated about each candidate's platform. Know what he values and be confident that he will work to improve your life as a member of America's Working Families. Health care, retirement, jobs, the economy, and the Employee Free Choice Act are a few of the issues that are going to affect all of us. Who is going to fight for you?

Anti-union messages on KPTV (Fox 12 in Portland)

An organization known for its anti-union messages has been running ads on local television channels. If you see these ads and are offended or upset by the content, please take the time to share your frustrations. Write a letter to your local newspaper editor or contact FOX at fox12comments@kptv.com. We must educate Fox's viewers about unions and dispel the stereotypes and myths associated with unions. For additional information or questions about these commercials, contact us at 503-804-3401.
