Wilson Construction wins bid for McNary-John Day transmission line
IBEW members will be building part of Bonneville Power Administration’s McNary-John Day 500-kilovolt transmission line. Wilson Construction will receive $38 million to work on this project which will get our members back to work. With this construction, IBEW members will continue making their mark on the green economy. Once energized in 2012, this line will enable BPA to transmit more than 700 megawatts of new wind energy. This is one of four transmission lines BPA hopes to build to meet the Northwest’s transmission needs by adding more than 225 miles of lines.

McMinnville donations will help raise funds
The City of McMinnville Water and Light Conservation District has donated $250 to the annual IBEW Local 125 golf tournament. Additionally, the linemen --our union brothers--have donated an additional $315. Proceeds from the tournament support the Oregon Burn Center. During these challenging economic times, we anticipate the Oregon Burn Center needing financial assistance more than ever to continue offering its world-class care and services. On behalf of IBEW Local 125 members, staff, and executive board, thank you to the City and our brothers for their generosity and willingness to support this event.
